This past month has been a huge blessing for Precious Lambs Learning Academy! The children have had a blast making valentines projects for their parents as well as decorating their bags to collect valentines from their friends here at school.
ABC’s are a blast! We have been working hard on those letters and sounds! This week we have been using small manipulatives to identify the letters and put them in order. The children have been making their alphabet trains! They have been so excited when they complete it!
Another blessing that we have had this month is the enrollment in 4 more students! This brings our new total to 20 students enrolled! We continue to accept students that meet our requirements as far as age and toilet trained. However, as we continue to accept students, we are still coming in much lower than we had anticipated. This is because we are put on a restriction with the COVID-19 requirements from the state. We are unable to have more than 15 students in a group. That means we can only have a maximum of 30 enrolled this year and none of those students can go between the morning and afternoon group (no full day students allowed, as that would mean we could only have a total of 15 students for the whole program). We were originally planning to have at least 24 students enrolled in just our morning program alone which would have meant we could have had a minimum of 48 enrolled before these restrictions were put in place. This has put a huge damper on things. We ask that you please consider the “Tending our Lambs” drive that will be kicking off here.
We are very thankful for all that everyone in the congregation has contributed to your program here. Our second round of open houses occurred this past week and we were able to have a few more families stop by and hear about our program here. Please continue to share our Facebook page posts and flyers that are put out in the bulletin from time to time.
This past month has brought many more blessings to our preschool here at St. Peter. The children continue to grow more and more every day. The families have been showing their love for the program by adding more days to their child’s schedule, offering to help with and prep items, and so much more! The program you all have developed here is really starting to grow on the families here and in the community.
This past month we have had a winter wonderland happening in the preschool! We have talked about snow, snowmen, penguins, polar bears, and gingerbread men. The children have had a blast playing with what feels like snow, making snowmen using lots of different items to create them, making penguins, and talking about how penguins and polar bears have many characteristics in common. We ended the month with our theme of gingerbread men. We made gingerbread cookies and somehow, they ran away! The children tried chasing them but had to keep following the notes that were left behind. Ultimately, the notes lead us back to classroom where the cookies were on their plates! The children had such a blast doing this! One day we were even able to share our cookies with the police officer who was in the parking lot! What a great month we have had!
This past December has brought many blessings to and from your Preschool here! It all started at the beginning of the month with the Preschoolers being able to gather and share the Great news of Jesus' birth with everyone. The children had so much joy sharing that program with all of you and their families. I would like to send a huge thank you to the congregation for talking with these families as they visit our Church and Program. Having all of your friendly faces here for the support and your willingness to stop and talk to the families and make a connection with them. When you do this you really help make a connection with them and help ease their nerves. Thank you for all that support! As a thank you for all that you do the Preschoolers have made a special gift for you. Be sure to check out your mailbox if you have not already!
November brought many things to be thankful for. It all started with the enrollment of 4 more students and only continued to grow from there. The children then talked about what it means to be thankful and what things they are thankful for. Many of their responses were moms, dads, grandma, grandpa, brothers, sisters, toys, clothes, food, school, friends, and the list went on. However, there was one more that they said and it was one of the best ones yet....God. The children discussed why this one was so important to them and why they wanted to be sure to say it.
The second month of school has been absolutely wonderful! The children are beginning to settle in and show that they are understanding the routines and procedures that we use here at school. These 15 children that we have, are such a blessing to our school!
The children had their first church singing this past month! 10 of the 15 children and their families came that day! We had a wonderful turnout! For some of these children it was their first time in front of a large crowd and we did have two children who just couldn’t bring themselves to join us when we went up and sang. Thankfully, it gives us something to talk about now and it can help them understand for our Christmas program what to expect and how we can grow from this first experience! If you were unable to be here when the children sang, feel free to check out the video on the Preschool Facebook page!
We looked at a few different themes this month included looking at leaves. The children really got into looking at the shapes of leaves and how they are all different. We discussed how their colors change as well. The children really had a fun looking at all the different colors that leaves can change. Then we moved on to experimenting. Oh boy! The children had a blast taking a look at all of the projects that we did from walking water to rubber eggs to oobleck to rockets! They really enjoyed getting in on some of the ooey gooey projects as well as understanding when we needed to stand back to be safe. The last week of October will be filled with talks of Martin Luther and a lot of pumpkin making!
November will be filled with Parent Teacher Conferences, Thanksgiving break, and working hard on our Christmas Program December 6th at 9am! Mark your calendars for this date and come join us as the children tell us about the Shapes of Christmas!
One last note! Please continue to share our new Preschool Phone number with everyone you know! Our new number is 559-575-0907.Thank you for the continued prayers and support that you continue to give!
The school year has gotten off to a great start! The children have loved being able to come to school and be with friends! This would not have been possible without all the great blessings that God has given us! Thank you to everyone for helping make this program a success. We currently have 16 children enrolled. They come and hear a Bible story every day and on Wednesdays and Thursdays we have chapel with Pastor in the church. The children really enjoy that time! We have started working on some letters of the alphabet and even started talking about apples. The children thought it was really neat looking at the inside (core) of the apple! To add to all of that they have been working really hard at identifying their written name and have even started working on writing it! Go Preschoolers!
